The Easiest Best Ever Healthy Banana Chocolate Smoothie

Hello, all! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We went to visit my family in Indiana, thus the weeklong hiatus from the blog. I get to see them so infrequently that I like to step back from the internet and just enjoy everyone's company. We arrived back late on Saturday, and the long day in the car left me with a migraine and all of us worn out. Suffice to say that Monday morning finds us with a dining room table cluttered by mail and half unpacked suitcases, while the laundry hamper is pretending to be Atlas just down the hall.

And visions of Christmas decorations are dancing through my head... Have you put yours up yet? So today I'm skipping Weekend Diaries and sharing a little something else - my favorite [homemade] smoothie recipe.

THE EASIEST BEST EVER HEALTHY BANANA CHOCOLATE SMOOTHIE

Ingredients:

1 Cup Milk
4 Ice Cubes
1 Banana
1 Very Generous Tablespoon Cocoa Powder (he offered to pay my student loans, but I declined...)
1 1/2 - 2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter

Directions:

Blend all ingredients until smooth. Enjoy!

This sweet, healthy smoothie hits the spot and couldn't be quicker, cheaper, or more satisfying to those chocolate cravings that seem to intensify around Halloween and continue through the holidays. Those cravings that make one want to eat all the [chocolate] foods, and cause the most moderate of us to question if Halloween really is evil...

I hope you like it! What's your secret to staying healthy during the over indulgence of the holidays?

  1. I NEEDED this! Sure beats ripping through quarts of Oberweis ice cream.

  2. This is a delicious combination. I lean towards almond butter and almond milk, generally, but lately I've been craving peanut butter. Maybe the cocoa powder will offer to cover my loans, as well?
