So I'll be joining Jen again this week for 7 Quick Takes...
1
I hope that everyone has had a great week, and that the holiday hangover from Thanksgiving wasn't too bad! For me, it's always so hard to see visiting family go. If you need a bit of cheering up, check out....

This link. It is a virtual makeover tool. Just upload a photo of yourself and go crazy. I was laughing out loud (or is it aloud?) as I tried hairstyles on my virtual self.

In the combox of Wednesday's post, a dear reader asked for a pic of my little lips in all their be-lipsticked glory (not as strange as it sounds). I aim to please, so here we go.
4
I am wearing Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Cha Cha Cherry (I didn't use a filter on this pic, so the color is fairly accurate). See, even little lips can do it!
5
I am also wearing Audrey Inspired Everyday Eyes and CoverGirl Instant Cheekbones in Refined Rose. It was a rough night with the babe, so a little extra color was needed!

For my quick takes quote I usually choose something a little more profound, but I'm rolling with a theme here... So from another thin lipped woman, I give you, "Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-as# red lipstick." (Gwyneth Paltrow)

On a completely different note (or is it?), I came across this other quote that made me smile, "A puritan is a person who pours righteous indignation into the wrong things.” Thank you, as usual, Mr. G. K. Chesterton.
Have a great weekend my sisters and friends!
You look gorgeous! I just got into lipstick over the summer, thanks to my best friend. I love a few really bright, flamingo pinks I found, but I haven't quite made the leap over to red yet...maybe I'll have to try it for Christmas; it's so much more seasonal than hot pink =)
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend, Mary!!
Hi Stephanie! I'm dying to try a true red! I stopped by wal-Mart the other day and the real reds in almost every brand were sold out!!! I couldn't believe it. I think I'm going to hit up ulta this weekend...
DeleteI love your look, and your lipstick post. I've been wearing lipstick more and more and love it. Like Patty Duke in The Parent Trap, "I feel practically naked without my lipstick." ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Laura! I'm starting to think I'm the last one on the lipstick train
DeleteI love Chesterton, and that quote is awesome! Also, I love Gwyneth, and I love Audrey, so your post is a triple win! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you love that quote! :)
DeleteDo you read Chesterton? I've only read The Man Who Was Thursday. It threw me a little because I was not expecting the book to be quite...like it was...I'll have to read it again sometime!
DeleteI've read some... My faves thus far are Orthodoxy and his little biography of St. Francis. In general, I like his non fiction better than his fiction. I haven't read The Man Who Was Thursday; there are always so many books on the list... : )
DeleteThanks for humoring me : )
ReplyDeleteAnytime :) Seza
