Me. Everyday.

I just realized that I have entered the THIRD TRIMESTER of this pregnancy! I almost can't believe it. But then I feel a twinge of back pain, see my belly button through two shirts, realize that my chest is blocking the view of my feet...

I hope that I'm not boring you with such a very basic outfit, but in the name of keepin' it real (and isn't that the current nom de plume in blogger land?), I must share. This is what I wear almost every single day. Sometimes the color of the shirt will change, or I'll throw on another layer, or wear a different necklace, but this is the foundation, folks. The uniform.

The Outfit: Shirt: Mossimo Boyfriend Tee via Target // Jeans: Mama Slim by H&M (I found the darker wash in-store) // Shoes: Python Print Flats by Banana Republic Outlet // Watch: Citizen Eco-Drive

A quick word about the pants. Does anybody out there have any suggestions for great looking full panel maternity jeans? That aren't hundreds of dollars? I really like this pair from H&M (especially the perfect dark wash), and I have barely worn anything else since I bought them. My only complaint is that I find myself constantly pulling them up. They have the best fit of the options I tried, and I couldn't get the next smaller size past my calves, so I don't think that is the issue. Is this just a thing with full panel maternity pants? I don't remember this from the other times. I don't know. Wisdom, ladies?

  2. My favorite full panel are Old Navy. They are hand-me-downs so I'm not certain the specific name but they are awesome. I like maternity jeans that no one would ever know are maternity jeans...you know...and these are them. Plus they're a little stretchy which makes sitting on the floor and running around with the twins comfortable pants-wise. :)

  3. I got bootcut full panel pants from GAP last time around. They were okay. I was so huge that everything I tried on was was awkward and uncomfortable.

    1. I also have a pair of Gap full panel maternity jeans and they actually fit really strangely on me at first. They gapped in the back pretty noticeably. But I did keep them & they worked wonders at the end of my (3rd) pregnancy (one of the only pairs that fit comfortably towards the whale-like end!). I think it's totally reasonable to need bigger sizes, or different types of clothes throughout pregnancy. If I really think about it-it's crazy to think we can wear all the same maternity clothes while gaining 30+ lbs!!!

    2. Laura and Emily, I find myself wondering all the time if "ok" is the best than can be expected in maternity wear, at least in the budget price range... I keep searching, though, and trying to find ways to make this or that a little better (like belting a dress to help the fit). And I agree, Emily, it is definitely a huge challenge to hit a moving target, and if fluctuating weight isn't one such target I don't know what is! And I definitely also have maternity clothes that work only in one or the other of the trimesters, no matter the "fudging" I try!

    3. I second the Gap jeans...I bought a pair of skinnies way back in my first trimester that have fit really well up until my baby dropped about two weeks ago, whereupon I've decided I hate pants! I just bought my regular size in the maternity version and they were perfect. I think it's sizing that's the hardest thing with maternity; I'm still figuring out where to go up or down from normal, but at least with Gap things seem true to size. You look amazing, by the way!

  4. Oh man, is H&M selling maternity online now? They weren't about a year ago! My *dream* is to have a budget maternity line of things that are actually cute, well made, and affordable. I feel like this shouldn't be too much to ask :D (my other dream is to rent maternity wear--like very nice maternity wear, so that you can just rent a "capsule" of great fitting, designer wear for each trimester. What do you think? Any venture capitalists willing to fund? :)

    1. Hi Sarah! Yes, they have maternity online, but I noticed that the products are a bit different (like colors available, etc) in store. I think it might be my go-to place for maternity basics in the future.

    2. Also, I used to dream that I would someday design just such a maternity line...
