WEEKEND DIARIES
show image via
This is not the most exciting of Weekend Diaries photo collages, I know. We had a lot going on, so I set the phone/camera aside more than usual this weekend. So what were we so busy with? Friday night, we took the kids over to their cousins' house and had a movie night, so that my sister and brother-in-law could go see their oldest in this production. It was a late night, so Saturday got off to a slow start. Not that anybody got extra sleep. You know how kids get up at the same time no matter when bedtime is. Husband and I just move slower...

Saturday was errands and some grocery shopping. That evening, the husband and I went to see my nephew's show. I have never seen Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat before, and we both really enjoyed it. I wore a cute little black dress, which will probably be appearing in a post this week or next. The suspense. Though I spent enough on snacks at the concession stand to buy a LBD, I was still hungry after the show, so we grabbed some sushi (don't worry I stuck to the cooked and California roll) and had a late night feast at home.

Sunday was Mass and yard work. Don't judge. We haven't had a day without rain in forever, and things were starting to get pretty wild out there. We topped the day off with a really long, late walk at the river. That's H looking pensively out over the water, and D and V enjoying their ride (some more than others).

And what of the random stripey picture of yours truly? Like I said, it was slim on pics this weekend so I cheated a bit. That is from earlier in the week, but I know you are eager for a sight of the baby belly. Don't feel cheated. It's there all right, those stripes just sort of camouflage it. I'm definitely showing earlier this time around, but that's to be expected, right? I also wanted so show the one with the bag so you could see that I am utilizing the rule of three colors. Nifty, huh?

  1. I'm impressed you're still fitting in to your regular clothes! I outgrew my pants in the first trimester with both babies (always gained most of my weight up front).

  2. Well... I'm not fitting into my regular jeans. I just can't do it, one of my mottos could be "why be miserable?" I have a couple pairs of shorts that sit low and were always a little loose, and those still work. So don't be overly impressed : )

    1. And, I usually do gain 8 or 10 pounds right off the bat, too, not as a cute baby belly, but just a bit of extra "thickness." But this time around I'm still nursing (kind of a long story), so I really haven't gained as much, yet there it is, a baby bump!

'Cause I'm sure you wanted even more info, Sarah :)

    1. It's the Kristin Tote from banana republic . My husband got it for me two years ago at Christmas . I love the short straps and adjustable shoulder strap . My only complaint is that it isn't lined, but I would say its the most versatile / fave bag I've ever owned!

    1. Thanks, Sheena! I love wearing light long sleeve tops with shorts, but it takes a certain kind of weather to pull it off! We've been having lots of upper 60's days that are rainy / humid, so I guess there's that silver lining : )

  6. I have that striped sweater! I love the square neckline. Mind is definitely 5+ years old from Loft and still looks brand new. If you have it, I must be doing something right!

    1. Jessica, I wish I had yours! Mine is actually Old Navy via Goodwill, so it's probably only going to be a one summer fling!

  8. gahhh I really want to do this and can't get my stuff together! :) Maybe this coming Monday... ;)

You look super super cute, and btw I am so grateful for you sharing "The Rule of Threes" - I'd never heard that! I have been using it in all my outfits lately and I think it really simplifies accessorizing for this oversimplistic girl! Thank you!
